One Platform for Buildings, Teams and Occupants: AWS Smart Building Management
Ficode developed a connected management platform with a facility web portal, mobile apps and edge applications. The published project account describes five or more building functions brought together and ten mobile and edge applications delivered for different building users and tasks.
The project in context
A commercial building rarely runs on one system. Facility teams need to understand energy use, equipment conditions, alarms and maintenance activity, while occupants need straightforward access to everyday services. Ficode developed a connected management platform with a facility web portal, mobile apps and edge applications.
Scattered building signals. Separate services. Limited shared visibility.
The smart-building provider needed to bring information from sensors, meters, equipment, access systems and occupant-facing services into a coherent platform. Facility staff required an easier way to interpret operating conditions, while occupants and technical teams needed tools suited to their own jobs.

Connect systems
Bring IoT , energy and access information into the platformUnify operations
Use dashboards, reports and connected workflowsServe each role
Deliver web, mobile, room-side and edge experiencesBring building information together. Make it useful for each user.
Monitor
Configurable dashboard widgets surface sensor readings, energy use, alarms, occupancy, equipment states and environmental indicators in one facility-facing view.
Report
Meter readings and reporting features support NABERS submissions, sustainability disclosures and tracking against building energy goals.
Serve
Mobile experiences give occupants access to room booking, building services, environmental information and relevant notifications.
Enable
Room-side tablets display availability and allow immediate reservations. Edge applications support technical teams configuring and diagnosing building hardware.

Teams can monitor building conditions, prepare reports and access services through applications suited to their roles.
A shared platform for operations and building services
A clearer view of building operations
Five or more building functions, including energy, alarms, access, maintenance and occupancy, are represented in one management experience.
Support for different building users
Facility teams can monitor conditions and review reports; occupants can use booking and information services; technical teams have room-side and edge tools.
Energy and compliance information in one place
Energy records and structured reporting support NABERS preparation, sustainability disclosures and a more joined-up view of building performance.
A foundation for varied properties
Configurable dashboards, reporting definitions and connected applications make the platform suitable for different buildings and user roles.
